Mountain of the Sun · Oman

Where Oman'sfirst lightbegins.

A mountain retreat steps from the Oman Grand Canyon, near the summit of Jebel Shams.

The Story

The Mountain of the Sun.

“Jebel Shams” means Mountain of the Sun — the first place in Oman the sun's rays reach at dawn, and the last place they leave at dusk. The resort sits high on Oman's highest mountain, steps from the Oman Grand Canyon (Wadi Ghul), whose vertical cliffs drop more than a thousand metres. Here in the Hajar Mountains of Al Dakhiliyah, days are vast and nights are full of stars.
